Murtaza Karanfil was born in 1971 in Mardin. After completing his primary and secondary education in Mardin and nearby cities, he moved to Istanbul for his high school education and eventually settled there permanently. Karanfil, who entered the business world at a young age, began working in a boutique textile business in 1987. In 1995, he established Ahkam Textile. During this time, he worked with countries such as Egypt, Algeria, Sudan, Libya, and Tunisia. He chose Libya as the focal point for his corporate actions to achieve a steady expansion acceleration.

In 1999, he started to operate in the logistics sector to find a solution for his customers in Libya. In 2007, he founded the Karanfil Group Foreign Trade and International Transportation Incorporated Company. Murtaza Karanfil, who focused on his Libyan business partners, continues his work life that began with trading textiles, with over 120 thousand international clients, 26 thousand manufacturers and suppliers within Turkey, exporting worth 190 million dollars, and trade and investment relations in various sectors.

In 2020, he established Royal Karanfil Holding to consolidate all the Group's companies as part of ongoing institutionalization efforts. Royal Karanfil Holding continues to work with a quality service perception through its 14 companies in 16 different sectors.

Karanfil, who is active in non-governmental organizations in addition to his successful business ventures, established the Turkish-Libya Businessmen Association (TULIB) in 2021 to strengthen the long-term regional development of Türkiye and Libya and to foster collaboration opportunities.

In 2017, Karanfil was appointed as the President of the Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) Libya, and in 2020, he assumed the task of Head of the Türkiye-Libya Business Council of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEiK).

Murtaza Karanfil, who leads the strategic policies and the aims of the future of Royal Karanfil Holding, is married and a father to four children. He knows an advanced level of Arabic and a beginner level of English.
